Job satisfaction is a phrase that we are heard frequently. Job satisfaction refers to a person's sense of fulfillment at work, which serves as a motivator to continue working. It's not about self-satisfaction, happiness, or contentment; it's about job fulfillment. Job satisfaction refers to a person's overall relationship with the company for which he gets compensated.

What is Job Satisfaction?

An unquantifiable indicator, job satisfaction is described as a pleasant emotional response you have while doing your job or being present at work. Leading businesses are increasingly attempting to evaluate this sentiment, with job satisfaction surveys becoming foremost in most workplaces (Basumallick, 2021).

It's crucial to keep in mind that job satisfaction varies by employee. The elements that make one employee feel good about their employment may not apply to another employee in the same workplace under the same circumstances. As a result, it's critical to take a multifaceted approach to employee happiness.

 

Why Is Job Satisfaction Important?

·     Employee happiness is crucial because it indicates that the job is satisfying, and it boosts workplace motivation.

·       It is common knowledge that when an employee is happy in their job, their productivity rises (Wikijob, 2021).

·       Employees may inform their friends or family about the organization's good character as a result of this, which helps spread organizational goodwill (www.positivepsychology.com, 2021)

·     Employees are less likely to leave if they are happy in their jobs. It also aids in the recruitment of higher-quality employees, as new hires regard staff retention as a plus.

·       Career development and promotions

·       Average interval between promotions.

·       Working stress

·       Financial rewards.

·       Peaceful workplace environment

·       Work-life balance

·       Positive co-worker relationship

·       Attitudes of boss/ relation between reporting head.

·       Praise by the management.

·       Job recognition.

·       Job security.

In addition to that Workers' gender, education, age, marital status, and personal qualities, as well as their family and socio-economic backgrounds (Shiyani, n.d.). These factors are directly affected to employees’ job satisfaction.  It is very obvious, no one possible to find a job that all factors lumped and comprised.

Tips to increase job satisfaction

§  When people change jobs and start working for a new company, get job happiness rise.

§  Make more money. Indeed, even within the same work, people can have higher job satisfaction.

§  have more realistic work expectations

§  Do job rotations, temporary or permanent relocation assignments, sabbaticals, or other types of leave are all possible options.

Conclusion

Keeping employees happy does not necessitate any extra effort. They want to be treated with respect and trust while working in a secure atmosphere with decent compensation and advancement chances. Employees will be satisfied if your organization creates ways to deliver on these crucial factors, and you will be helping to construct a stronger, more secure, and prosperous future (Villanova University, 2021)
